I see that Canada's Lanc-- VRA is leaving Hamilton on the 4 of Aug for a trip to the UK. She will be joining the RAF Lanc on the Show circuit over there. Apparently seats for the trip over were auction off on E Bay, one UK laddie got his seat for a mere $80.000. Having sat in VRA with those Merlins at power, there is no way I'd pay to put up with that abuse for hours on end. Anyway, if any one is interested, I understand there a few of the ' passengers' seats still available for the return trip-----The line forms to the right !!!! lads The trip legs are Hamilton to Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, RAF Coningsby Lincolnshire. The article stated that the Museum at Hamilton had raised over $750.000 to cover the cost of the trip ---- WOW. I sure hope she gets back home safe and sound. I have some of my time and sweat invested in that old lady. Cheers, Carm.

A friend of mine has (much) left-seat time in the DC-3/C-47/Dakota that shares hangar space with the Lanc at Hamilton. I have a photo of him somewhere leaning out the co-pilot's window of the Lanc with a big goofy grin on his face. He's recently retired from Air Canada, but is having some pretty hard health issues currently. Last summer was when he got to ride about in the Lanc. He had about the same impression of the Lanc's 'music' from inside... LOUD. I prefer to go deaf pleasantly, with some good blues guitar on the stereo.
