From the Tatitna airstrip (we always called it 'the Rhone' after the roadhouse there), Rainy Pass is fairly short - only three major turns. Requires a ceiling of 4000' and fairly decent visiblity. This is runway 6 at Tatitna - we'll follow the river upstream to the first turn. That tree on the left is, of course, dead center on runway heading - lucky it's a fly-through. The first turn - you can see the strip back on the right side. The Iditarod Trail comes through here on its way to Nome. Second turn - you can see that, with good vis, it's not that big a deal. The third turn is right behind us as we approach the little lake at the summit (3700' - left ski tracks verifying that one winter). Exit is just past the second shadowy ridge on the left. After the initial installation confusion, I'm finding this extremely good scenery. Out in the wide portion headed for Puntilla Lake. The area going off under the right wing is the Ptarmigan section of the pass - usually a better bet if the weather's chancy.

Don't know how many have it but the 'FTX Trees HD' really comes into its own with this kind of scenery.

I forgot about those Dave. You really like them, do you? Are you able to turn them off in favour of the default trees easily should you want to?

Those FTX trees are very, very nice. And yes, they're easily controlled in FTX Central. In "Settings", scroll down to the bottom of the box.

Hmmnn, might have to think about that one. I liked them better except for out east the fall colours seemed to rusty and not red enough. For out west though, it's more accurate. Thanks guys - will look into that.
