FTX Central V2 and updating the libraries has changed a bit. According to Ben (developer of v2) Central checks if any ORBX library files are out of date and installs just the ones needed from the ORBX site. Yesterday I encountered the same problem described by olderndirt. It was telling me it would take days to update. Have not clue why as the last update went without a hitch, not so yesterday. I just downloaded the whole library from the support page (only one library now they did away with the second one, this may be why the screwed up auto-update yesterday). I still download the file and keep a copy on my HD to use when installing addons. Still say 'if it ain't broke ....'.

I agree with Spud. It's all fine and dandy that FTX Central is supposed to take care of things, but what if you decide to install something after the latest "automatic update"? Will FTX Central detect your intentions and update things as needed? Permit me to doubt. I prefer to download the libraries and have them handy.

Fritz, if you install "older ORBX Scenery" it could lead to some problems relying on the v2 Central. Here is what Ed said about the same question yesterday.
We have not bundled Orbxlibs with installers released since November 2013, so chances are if you do install something old, you will place old files back in.
Now, FTX Central relies on the version text file to detect a change (if we were to get FTXC to poll all files for changes things would grind to a halt) and if that version text file is not overwritten, unfortunately FTXC won't pick it up.
My recommendation, have a local copy of the full installer saved for times like these. If you are reinstalling older sceneries, and the easiest way to tell is that in the installer screen messages you will see it mentioning an Orbxlibs version number, run the full Orbxlibs installer once you have finished.
None of the Region installers available from FSS have Orbxlibs. Those with DVDs of Region will have the older Orbxlibs.
If your are in doubt, run the full installer - takes less than a minute of your time.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks, Spud.
