Woweeee! Man, I remember most of that. Yeah, how things have changed, eh? Didn't take a lot to please us, but a lot of those aircraft would rival todays from a distance. And they were all free and when someone accomplished a breakthrough, they shared it with the entire community and everybody benefited. Not quite like that today. I guess you could argue that what we have today is light years better (in some respects/areas, anyway), but I do think we had more fun back then as you suggested. Thanks for this .

Small planes, low & slow, short flights and bush flying are my favorites in the sim.

Wow - you two must be the Orville and Wilbur of Flight Sim. Fred and I consulted very frequently on the first Beaver. Flight dynamics weren't sophisticated enough to permit a very accurate rendering but he sure did a good job with what he had to work with. Another fellow (also a "Dave") and I got together and were making scenery more or less parallel to Don's work, which we discovered when I first met Don back in the very early days of Alaska by Don (Dave and I were working on Northern Ontario though). Dave didn't live all that far from me and he very generously had me over for dinner a few times which turned into bull sessions for doing scenery. I first started in this though back in the days of SubLOGIC when everything was wire frame. Yep, "Orville and Wilber, move over." Take anyone back just a bit ? That was yesterday. THIS is today... My how things have changed!

Everybody had it (that had that vintage ). You could only get certain default areas (San Fran, Martha's Vineyard, Chicago, I think London and I believe it was either Boston or New York. That was it. Nothing in between. Wow

I remember one adventure was landing on the George Washington bridge in New york city. Another was sitting down in Central Park. As a matter of fact, I have on my desk as we speak, a ring bound book titled " 40 More Great Flight Simulator Adventures " byCharles Gullick, the foreword in the book is by the creator of Flight Simulator, Bruce Artwick. --- so it says. I haven't opened this little book in years. Me thinks I'll have a go a one or two later today. I just noticed that there are a couple of ' adventures' flying in and out of Meggs field at Chicago. This little gem is copyrighted in 1986. Should be good for a chuckle Carm.
