Nice shots Glenn! I've been thinking about picking up an A2A plane. I had the 182 at the top of my list, but now with the Comanche out, it makes for a tougher decision. Any preference between the two? I'm sure they are both high quality. They both seem like they would make nice, cross-country touring planes. I'm guessing the Comanche is a bit quicker.

Nice. See, on that plane, the swooshes look fine. Cool. Love that airfield.

@scott - sorry to miss this post - It's tough is right. Really, it comes down to whether you want a modern or older machine. If you have the GTN series then either is a good X C machine for sure, with the Comanche being somewhat faster (about 10 to 20 kts). The Comanche is a nice, solid ride too and I love flying it, but man, that 182 sure sucks you in as well. It would be a really tough choice to make for me I'm afraid. By the by, if you do get the A2A machines, set your controls sensitivities to very close to max. Turns out the "senstivity" control really means "delay" control. It doesn't dampen your control inputs, just delays when the input is felt in the aircraft and you can get behind these things a bit. Set to max you have a lot of control (you'll overcontrol initially) which gives you a very positive "ride".
Yeah, it's good on this machine. It's a very late model 182. I'll have to look and see what field that was Don. It's north of Bowerman I know, and I think begins with a "U". I'll check tonight.

I remember fondly an old straight tail Skylane I flew. 230 horse and it burned cheap (80/87) gas.

Oh yeah, got a few hours in one of those myself. Seems funny to think of a 182 with a straight tail and non-"T" panel now-a-days, doesn't it? Also got time in a straight tail 172 and 150. Gawd I'm old <LOL>.
