Pulled in to an un-named safe anchorage about a mile beyond Chalk's landing (61FD). It's not bush country but Key West can get a bit wild.

I really like that Dornier - would love to have tried one in Alaska.

Hell yes! Some of the bars I went to don't even exist anymore. That was 30+ years ago. The place never stops. Good booze, Jimmy Buffett music, GREAT scenery, if you know what I mean! Hemmingway's six-toed cats are still around. It is a must at least once. BP;)

I recall after getting my Navy wings the first flying assignment was the Replacement Air Group in Key West for fleet training. Wow says I Key West, the vacation White House for Harry Truman (yeah it was that long ago) must be a really great vacation spot. Well I arrived at Zero Dark Thirty and grabbed a room at the Bachelor Officer's Quarters. Next morning I says to myself, "self, lets go see this fabulous vacation mecca." When I drove down the main drag into the 'village' and saw the 'Margret Truman Laundrette' I began to realize that this ain't no resort its a damn fishing villiage. Lots of bars and interesting places to see (the cats were there of course) but its a fishing village. Logan's Lobster House was one of my favorite hang outs, good food, music, entertainment and booze and the most southerly drinking establishment in the continetal U.S.
