Word has it LH has been working quietly behind the scenes doing a 64 bit version of P3D. Now for most of you that's not news, but what IS news is that they expect to release it this morning sometime!! It'll cost $95 and it's optimized so well you'll be able to run with all sliders close to max'ed. Apparently Orbx has been secretly employed to do the scenery for it and while the whole world isn't quite what their FSX fat regions are now, it's not far off. I think this is why it's taken so long to get OpenLC finished and out. Carenado were employed to do the default aircraft for it as well.Anyway, possibly more news this morning, but this is very interesting indeed!

Just finished reading a post on the LM support forums that no 64bit was planned for now. Of course having been around for 3/4 of a century of April 1st pranks doesn't hurt either.

Since it wasn't Tuesday, couldn't be a new airline. According to JV, a 64 bit version would be chaos, not only for the simmers but the developers too.

Yeah, I'm not sure LH is going to allocate the manpower hours, etc. to build a new "toy" unless they can get it approved by the FAA for training purposes. That in itself would be pretty expensive, so even if they did ever do it, it won't be $95. Maybe 10 times that, but not under $100 for sure. And then everyone is starting from scratch again and some developers who couldn't convert to 64 bit programming would likely drop out as well. I don't see it happening to be honest. At least not in the simming time I have left.
