Just curious. Which 3 or less aircraft do you use the most these days? Here you have mine. the list may change next week. DHC-1 Chipmunk. My favorite scenery watcher. It can fly level and stable at just under 50 knots (1 flap down), It can cruise at 105 knots, Its very gentle but still fun to fly. The texture quality both inside and out is top. I fly this one more than my A2A aircraft. I have a soft spot when it comes to small taildraggers and especially if they are low wing. It has a wonderfull sound package. Especially from exterior view. Manfred Jahn´s Douglas C47. What a wonderfull bird. Just like the little chip, you have the feel that its flying because of the wings and not just because of a big engine. The VC has modern equipment with double GPS. Its not a representation of a historical AC, but tries more to represent those still in action. It has a lot of repaints, texture upgrades and sound upgrades. Its freeware and as good or better than most payware. And then it has this feel of the "good old sim days" where freware was good and general the tone relaxed and helpfull. I went directly from FS9 to P3D and it was a bit of a shock. Its very good and pretty, but everything is a LOT more commercial and the general tone and behavior is very different. The Razbam Metroliner. This is not pretty, but it flies very well IMHO, its pretty lively for its size and I dont fall asleep like in the same sized Carenado planes. textures and VC is top notch. Views are good, and I just like it. But its not a bush plane.

Now there's a loaded question. Good one though. Number one for me right now is the Carenado Citation, but only because it's my newest. Typical Carenado kit plane, some assembly required.
Number two, well some hoser who lives in Canada (where else would a hoser live?) talked me into buying the same plane twice, the Turbine Duke V2. Turns out it was worth every penny.
Number three is the Flysimware Cessna 441 which I was trying not to like. It's really grown on me.
Runner up, renewed romance with Piglet's Porter. Still infatuated with Razbam's Metro and Carenado 207. Ask again next week, I'll have a completely new list.

This week, in my entertainment copy of FSX; the Carenado SR22 GTSX, the Alabeo DA40 and the default Cessna 172SP. The Cessna because it is my default startup aircraft and I'm often too lazy to select a different one. Next week, This week (and every week), in my development copy of FSX; the Finney Crosshairs Plus (with customizations) is used exclusively.

My number one has to be the Duke v2 Next is CLS's 747 followed closely by the Cessna 206 or 185 on floats. Honoury mention goes to Old Blue, of course. I have to add my all time very favourite A/C to fly when I feel ,the need for speed ----- the Real Air Spitfire. It is one fine sim and I cannot fault it. I love to fly this beauty.

I can give you my LEAST favourite airplane right now - CRAPPYNADO'S SH*TATION!! I have yet to see an aircraft so overprice with so few things working (that should) than this one. Unbelievable. They hit a new low with me.
Sorry for the downer, but I feel like I've been completely ripped off with this release.
Otherwise, favourites - Turbine Duke V2, F1 King Air B200, probably Cessna Mustang (F1). Not necessarily the order of most flown, but in how good I think they are.

For a challenge, not only to me but my system, I go with the Coolsky DC9 - steam gauges at their finest. The Flight 1 PC12 is another - just reading Glenn's comments keeps me wary of anything Carenado. My all around - cruise, short field and great handling - Me108 Taifun from Classics Hangar. Real life needs beefed up gear but, with the wing slats, I got nothing slower and shorter that'll also get me there as quickly.

Right at the moment it's the Super Cub Ultra from Flight Replicas but that's because I've been flying in Papua New Guinea and some of the strips there are pretty small. I really like Carenado's 207, it's by far the best release from them in some time. The BN-2 Islander from Flight 1 is a beauty, my view. Of course, next week I may prefer something else. It depends on where I'm flying.

Interesting. I've always been interested in the DC9, but never bought it. I really liked the "9's". Insofar as Carenado goes, their "light" aircraft that are not too complicated are quite good. Their last few releases (Saratoga, C207, PC12) are excellent. It was those that prompted me to go for the Citation since it fits well with air ambulance work. This one though, is really, really, really bad, even for Carenado, which frankly, surprised me. The flight dynamics (down low) are very nice and the engine dynamics (down low) are very good. That's about all the good I can say about it though. The stuff that's missing, unreadable or frankly, just plain wrong, is making for a small book, it is so voluminous. That's too bad because the Citation deserves better. I haven't parked it yet because it's $45 (premium price for a drop in quality - at least in the past they weren't that expensive so you could overlook some things), but it's very, very close. I've already sent them a 1 page list of bugs, and another one is on its way later today. I am 100% certain that the vast majority of the bugs won't be fixed. Sad.

Thanks for the reply´s. Its interestin reading. I join on the BN-2 Islander and the Alabeo C207. Great AC.
I bought a Carenado Beech 1900 when it was cheaper not long ago, and its pretty, but, I fall asleep when I fly it. Over the years, most of the Carenado AC that I have bought have ended up in the back of my hangar collecting dust. So I cant see myself buying. Only the ones which Bernt Stolle has modified is being used.
Of my classical plane, the ones I´ve gone back to again and again, the real air Scout I strongly prefer over whatever super cub I´ve tried and back in FS9, the Dreamfleet AC were very good as well. I really likes the Piper Dakota. The Real air Siai Marchetti is pretty good as well.
I find it interesting that no-one, incl. myself have mentioned any A2A aircraft.

And my winner in the category worst buy ever is: Simflight3D Cessna 140 (difficult to beat). Its sooo pretty from the outside view, but the rest is below bad freeware quality (FDE, sound, VC everything). At least it was cheap.

I have too many to list just three. All planes have specific uses, so it would be hard to pick an overall top three. Top 30 would be easier! LOL!

Wow, let me fix that right now. As I've been spending time troubleshooting the Citation, I've not been thinking that much about other machines, but the A2A 182 is the absolute best airplane I have in my hangar now in terms of graphics, feel, believable dynamics (and I have real time in 182's - love them!), meeting the numbers without being anal over them, etc. This would be followed very closely by their 172. A2A is the top of the food chain IMO, including over PMDG. Anything they do now (in the way of GA aircraft that one regularly sees), I buy. No questions asked. So put the 182 and 172 at the top, followed by Real Air (a VERY close second). Fixed

I totally agree about A2A. I too forget them. I have their Cub and the Strato 377. they are magnificent. When ever I want a challenge in a Sim I go to A2a's Strato. Haven't tried their 182 ---Might just do that today. Carm.

I don't have any A2A stuff. Maybe I should consider one. The price keeps putting me off, though.

I have both the A2A Cessna 182 and their Piper Cherokee 180; they mainly sit in the hangar. I'm more of an Alabeo, Carenado or RealAir type. Maybe it's because I have never flown in the real world; as a pilot or even as a passenger.
