For anyone wondering (and this stems from Don's question about space), I just looked at my D and E drives where I run FSX and it's various programs from (plus a couple of other games) and where I store my backups, respectively. Each is a 2 TB drive (space is cheap these days) and I've only used about 280 GB for my FS disk (a bit more for my backup). So if you had a 1 TB drive, you'd have all kinds of space. Remember, I have a huge amount of Orbx scenery including all regions (except NZ), numerous add-on airports, Vector 1.2, Global and OpenLC Europe. Even with all that, not that much of these drives are used, so like I say, if you can get a 1 TB drive, you'll be more than fine. FYI.

I have a 2TB in there as a second drive. However, I would have to reinstall everything on it to use it. I did a bunch of housecleaning last night and opened up 140Gigs on my C drive, giving me almost 190 gigs free now. I'll be fine with that for now. That Pilot mesh, when opened, is 100gig.

I think with the two of them together (Global and Vector) you're looking at about 35 GB or so. You'd be fine.

Remembering our Apple II+ - came with 32 kb of memory and twin floppy drives - upgraded to 64 kb, what a powerhouse.

Well, you know, you'll never need more than 640K of ram, eh?

My first hard drive had 250 Mb of space and 4 Mb of RAM. FS ran quite nicely.

My first hard drive had a capacity 20mb. But it sure beat having to wait for that 5 1/4" floppy drive to boot an operating system. I was all modern in those days, with my intel 286/10 being the top of the line processor. That month. I remember stammering a bit when I found out that a math co-processor would be necessary to run the wire-frame flight sim program that was available (MS FS predecessor.)

My first was an 8086 with a 30 meg HD. That was back when the FS world had stick buildings. It wa spretty sorry looking back, but it was GREAT back then!
