After an hour layover in Yakutat, we continued on our way to our northern hub of Gulkana. The weather was still quite good, with a bit of an overcast in Gulkana and occasional light snow. On the way though, we were able to see down between the breaks in the clouds to a gorgeous, winter landscape that is Alaska. I would be staying in Gulkana to do some Twin Otter work along the Chitina for a few days. I'll miss the 146, but the Twin Otter is such a hoot to fly as well, and it is "deep bush", so I'll never argue about that.
Ready to go at Yak
Initial climb out from Yakutat. Water looks cooooollllldddd...
Still climbing, now above the first layer of cloud
A winter wonderland! Love it!!
You can tell it's getting near Christmas. Mid afternoon and the sun is low. Sure does make for a beautiful light though!
On final for Gulkana. Don's old haunt.
Down and offloaded. This aircraft would be heading over to Anchorage shortly, but I am staying on here for a bit.
Thanks for looking.

Yeah, daylight is becoming scarce. But hey, the days start getting longer in just a few weeks. Yippee!
Cuz you know, winter sucks.
