This is a PIREP because I was a RW pilot and I'm at an airport and reporting on the weather (so there!). Our forecast today - partly cloudy with a chance of flurries. We've had zero visibility for the last couple of hours in snow and blowing snow. Now, if I were in Buffalo, I wouldn't know if the snow was blowing because the tops of the snowbank would be so far over my head, I wouldn't be able to see it. So far, 6 feet, with another 3 feet (not inches!!) expected today. Hey, at least they don't have to worry about not having a white Christmas...
...for the next couple of YEARS!!!
I now return you to your regularly scheduled mayhem.

Crazy, isn't it. Toronto's only about 60 miles from Buffalo as the crow flies but we got less than 2 inches yesterday. Lake effect sure can make a huge difference, depending on where you live. We normally get one or two major dumps per season, ranging up to maybe a foot, but nothing like that. Last year it was ice that did us in, right before Christmas. I was without power for almost exactly 72 hours, regaining it about 6 AM on Christmas morning. Great present! Fortunately, I have a gas stove so was able to get some heat and warm meals. Surprisingly, I didn't lose a thing in the fridge, even the milk staying fresh right to the bottom.
Sure glad we didn't get snow like that when I was a kid. You know, back when we had to walk miles to school, barefoot and uphill both ways.

Yeah, up here at CYKF we have about 10 com. In Fergus, we've got about 20, and in Mount Forest there's probably about 30 or so. Go to Owen Sound and you've probably got 2 to 3 feet of the stuff .

Would anyone have any information about Milwaukee? I gotta go there next week. Sounds like I should take my long pants.

Cool, but they are on the windward side of the lake so I don't think they have that much snow. It's been very cool though, although they are talking of a bit of a warm up for next week. I don't think it will be unduly cold and likely not all that snowy Fritz.

Sounds like a real snow job Glenn.
No problem about the weather in Milwaukee Fritz. Lots of good pubs and micro brews there. No need to go outside. Plenty of cheese too.

Lake Erie - used to call it the 'Lake effect'.

That's what I thought! Below freezing! Well, it's better than Buffalo, at least. I just heard that today, it's going to be 50°F with rain! Ought to be very interesting.
