The payload manager on my Metroliner doesn't work. Not for any of the models. I thought it might be just my repaint, but, nope, nothing works. I can configure the load/pax just fine with the FSX manager. Anybody have any ideas?

The load manager doesn't display anything other than the new values you put in as you are making the changes. For example, you don't hit "enter" or anything like that - it just updates the aircraft load "silently". You probably know this, but you click the little green or red icons either side of the adjustable values on the sheet to change the loading. Same with the fuel load (which is a bit hard to find at first - just look for those icons again). If you make the changes then close the load manager and go to the menu in FSX and check your aircraft loading there, it should be reflected.
Now, if you are doing all that and it's still not working, make sure you haven't changed the names of the aircraft. I don't think that should matter because it's working on my add-on liveries, but it might be you need to have the original one or two liveries (I just have 2 of the original liveries enabled) enabled in order to work.
I'm not sure if the above is very clear or helpful, but check those things first and see if that doesn't work for you. If it doesn't, I'll have a look tonight at my installation and see if I can figure anything else out. In the meantime, crash may be able to offer a few pointers for you. Good luck on that.

Hmmm, I don't get it. I click the red and green icons but the values don't change. Is that supposed to be right?

Nope. They should change. Do you get the little "+" and "-" symbols in your tool tips when hovering above the icons?

FWIW Fritz, I can change the values with the click spots or by simply placing my mouse cursor in the appropriate field and using my mouse wheel. Ya might try your mouse wheel if you can't get the click spots to work. Other wise maybe something went awry during the install? A dll file wind up in never never land?

Nope. They should change. Do you get the little "+" and "-" symbols in your tool tips when hovering above the icons? I do. Then when I click on 'em, nothing happens. Same, same, when I use the wheel. Maybe Bob's right and I should just reinstall the airplane. Oh, bother!

Yeah, that might be the route to go. Only takes a couple of seconds. Just back up your Badwater & Hat livery just in case .

Well, boo. I reinstalled the thing but nothing changed. The payload managers still won't work. (grumble, mutter) I hate things like this, they put me off my feed.

OK, I'm around today Fritz, so let me see what I can do from this end. Back later...

I've done everything I could think of and then made up a few. No joy. I posted a question on their forum but it doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic. Well, I guess I'll sleep on it. Sigh.

OK, have a look at the screenie below. Note the red and the yellow arrows. Are those the points you are clicking on, but nothing is changing in the numerical fields when you do click on those icons? The red arrows point to the columns of weights, and the yellow arrows open and close the doors. Are both the doors and the weights not working, or just one of those two categories?

Just a shot in the dark Fritz, and this isn't from my install (not near my gaming computer at the moment) but this is supposed to be the correct dll.xml entry for the Metro. Might be worth taking a look to see if yours is similar...
<Launch.Addon> <Name>RAZBAM Metroliner System Control</Name> <Disabled>False</Disabled> <ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad> <Path>RAZBAM\MM3SM.dll</Path> <DllStartName>module_init</DllStartName> <DllStopName>module_deinit</DllStopName> </Launch.Addon>
Maybe Glenn or someone can double check where MM3SM.dll was installed to see if yours wound up in the correct location.

Also Fritz, there are reports that some Metro installers (depending on vendor) are moving the dll.xml line "</SimBase.Document>" to just after the Metro dll.xml entry I listed above. If so, this line should be moved to the very last entry in your dll.xml file if it isn't there already. Needless to say, back up your dll.xml if you decide to make some changes.

That MM3SM.DLL file should be located in your FSX\Addon Modules

Ah, ha! Thanks very much, guys. When I click on the red and green icons no values change. However, clicking on the "open/close" door icons works a treat. So perhaps it is the .dll files but why would one part of the manager work and not another? Anyroad, I didn't think of that and I will go and have a look around. I do remember that some of the newer releases mess with the dll.xml file but I thought that the Metroliner was originally released over a year ago. No matter. Thanks very much for taking the time to help and finding the addresses for the dll.xml files. Talk to you tomorrow. Thanks again.
