Could one of you please post an image of an approach to runway 31 at Courtenay Airpark (CAH3) in Global Vector V1.2?
I want to see the coastline (ocean/river) detail around the airport with just Global Vector V1.2 (if you also have Orbx FTX PNW disable it in FTX Central beforehand).

Thanks for posting the shot! It would be interesting to know where the source data came from for FTX Vector v1.2. The actual CAH3 runway 31 approach looks like this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Courtenay_final_31.jpgAs you can see the shoreline is very close to the approach; which is how UTX Canada, FTX PNW and even FSX default scenery looks like. Vector has it completely wrong. Notice also in the real world that there is a lagoon (Courtenay Airpark Lagoon) that runs along the east side of the runway. Only default FSX got this somewhat right (OK, so it's a lake and not a lagoon in default FSX); but UTX and PNW are missing it completely!

Well this month's Brain Fart came early I'm afraid. When I took the screen shots yesterday I had forgotten that I had disabled VECTOR's 5 files in the scenery library so all the shots are WITHOUT VECTOR active. At the moment I'm too confused the make sense of exactly what I had a screenie of. Except the FSX default was quite obvious.

If memory serves, not often, I've been in there before and it was pretty much as your pic. Must have been with PNW active.

Tried to approximate the 'wiki' pic - first is with Global (replaces default textures) and Vector (roads, coastlines, water etc). Second is with PNW activated (has it's own built in textures, vector etc). Neither one is placing too much emphasis on accuracy - note the discrepancy on the Orbx forum and they'll get to it.

I guess there is much to be said for flying in an area you are not too familiar with. For me that would be areas away from Southwestern BC, the Canadian Prairies and Southern Ontario up to North Bay.
UTX Canada and Orbx PNW are a big improvement over default but they are still very much removed from reality!
