Thanks for this Dave. I keep thinking about getting the whole Scotflight for Orbx package, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I emailed Ian to find out if they have seasonal textures, but no reply. That said, FTX Scotland's airports don't seem to either, and Scotflight has a whole bunch of added airports. His biggest hindrance to selling these packages (at least to me) are his screenshots. They are awful! It's hard to tell if that's what you're going to see, or if they are better on one's own machine. I suspect the latter because the UK2000 screenshots are also pretty bad but they look great on my machine. I'll probably get it, but there's a little niggle of hesitation, especially remembering you had some problems loading the bridges.

I've just installed the Edinburgh airport and can see why it's free. Pretty basic, similar to the one in FTXSCO but not as good as the payware by UK2000. Their payware scenery will look better if you use Orbx LC - EU - it sure helped FTXSCO.

OK, good to know. I do have LC-EU, but certainly their stuff looks pretty "basic" from their screenshots. I might be just as far ahead to stay with the Orbx version of Scotland. I'll miss a few airports and some signs at the existing airports, but overall I suspect the scenery is as good or better. Thanks Dave.

Well, I was at Edinburgh this Am and found this old girl sitting at the terminal---had to take her picture. All in all, considering the price, this stuff isn't that bad IMHO Cheers, Carm. |
