Well, the wheels are starting to churn. Anyone here with P3D that has found certain Orbx products and Pilot Mesh does NOT work on P3D (latest version)? Anyone getting OOM's with it who have reasonably high end machines? I'm thinking of a new rig and likely I'd make the switch then. It's not a done deal by any stretch, but I'm starting to think more seriously about it. I really like the atmospheric effects in P3D over FSX.
Thanks.

After doing a bit of research Scott, I'm holding off. It looks like V4 isn't that far away, and it's yet another purchase and yet another round of updates for the developers. This sort of cycle has to end before I could even afford P3D, never mind actually want it. I'll stick with FSX for now, but I am considering a new, high end rig (thus the W10 question).

I didn't realize v4 was around the corner. Is that going 64 bit yet? I'll probably just hang on with FSX Steam and DX10 for now . -Scott

Not sure it's right around the corner, but it is coming. I'm not sure why anyone would jump at P3D at this point when you have to keep buying it over and over; unless I've not got my facts right.

The more I read and watch about this 'Aerofly FS2' the more attractive it looks. Right now it seems limited compared with FSX and P3D but the visuals are already as good or better and the flight dynamics are reportedly the 'best' and that includes XP11. It's only downloadable from "Steam" which, for some reason, doesn't sound good but what do I know?

I'm torn. I love the slightly enhanced capabilities of P3D over FSX (visually and performance-wise) and want to get my money's worth out of all the thousands I've spent on scenery and add-ons. Having to buy each major variant of P3D is wearing very thinly for me at this point, however. $60/each three times over for the basic sim, I feel the next major version should be discounted. Yet if this one is 64-bit, yes I'll buy it. But if P3Dv4 is an interim version still at 32bit, I most likely won't make the purchase. I have lots of areas yet to fly in v3.

Yeah, and oddly enough, that's what we were doing when FS was being updated every 2 or so years. I'm thinking though that P3D versions are more frequent than that, which makes it more expensive. If I do get my new rig, it will be "P3D-ready" but I'm holding off buying it for a while yet.
