Hi you all ---- Happy new year !!
Has anyone out there got the Orbx freebee Yosemite stuff ?? I installed it today and its very good except for Mariposa-Yosemite airport, 068. I have a monumental elevation error there, no other field is effected. I have ran the FTX Vector AEC Configurator in auto twice and have tried manually also but, still have the problem. Anyone got any ideas ?? The reason I was foolin round with Yosemite was that I decided to go south out of this $%F$$% weather--- blowing lake effect snow, colder that a witches heart, Vis sometime so bad I can't even get out for my morning Tims DarkRoast Medium regular coffee. . So I fired up my CapSim WestJet 737 and headed for Orlando. All was going just swimmingly, we were at FL 30 just south of lake Erie when the d---n computer froze tighter that a bulls rear end in the fly season, and there was no way I could get going again. At that point I decided on the Yosemite effort , but that didn't workout too well either, wasn't my day But, if anybody has an idea about that Yosemite thing I'd appreciate it. If I can't get to Florida maybe Calif will do. Cheers,, Carm.

Don't have an elevation answer but try the Lee Vining airport, over by Mono Lake on the other side of the hills. It's almost equidistant from Yosemite village and a more interesting route.

Do you have Northern California ? It's a prerequisite for Yosemite. Sue

Yeprrrr Spud. That's what it should look like but, its no ways like what I have--great canyons on both sides of the strip etc. I'll try to post what I have. I've not been having much luck with photobucket lately though. Carm.

Here's my 068 Spud. You have to be careful when you set down.

You could look at FSX/scenery/world/scenery for a duplicate .bgl for O68.

Mariposa-Yosemite Airport is KMPI. I think Dave is right - there are duplicate entries, and almost for certain there will be a KMPI in the directory Dave mentioned. Do another look and add the extension, ".OFF" to that entry in the folder Dave suggested. If it's not there at all (and I'm 99.9% certain it is), then make sure Yosemite is layered above NoCal (or SoCal, which ever that area is in).

Carm, I did some looking tonight since getting home. In FSX, Mariposa-Yosemite is known as o68 (that's an "oh", not a zero). I found a single instance in FSX>Scenery>World>Scenery folder and 3 files in the Orbx>NA folder. When I go there (and I do have NoCal) the airport looks fine. My guess is that you have Yosemite layered BELOW NoCal (i.e. a higher number/further down the scenery library list) and that may be why you are seeing what you are. Mine looks the same as yours except my runways/taxiways are on the same level. Note I do not have the Yosemite scenery. Have a look at your scenery library.

Interesting!! snag.
As for the library priority's NoCal is #45-#48. Yosemite is #31. therefore it has higher priority ---Right? I have re and re looked for either a KMPI or o68 .bgl file in the World scenery file ---no luck... In the World Scenery files there is no NoCal listed; there is CRM, NOR, NRM,PFJ, PNW,SAK, SCO, but no NoCal.----strange??? Yet I obviously have the scenery and it is listed in the FSX Library ,and Orbx show it as installed and up to date. I've had enough for tonight. I'm starting to go Xeyed. Think I'll check how the Juniors HC are doing against the US. Cheers, Carm.

The Northern California code is NCA not NoCal, if that code is not showing in Scenery\World\scenery then Northern Cal. is not installed. In the FSX Scenery Library it would be in the FTX Group of files with the file name of: FTX_AA_YOSEMITE It is actually in the ORBX addon airports area of the library FTX entries. Remember do not try to place any ORBX scenery manually let its installer place it. That way it will be correct.

Hot Damn !! problem is solved . I reinstalled Northern Cal and its service patch, did the usual Vector AEC thing and now all is well. Yosemite no longer has an elevation problem and NCA shows up in the World/ scenery as it should. Thanks for the help fellow pilots. Looks like we won this one, too bad can't say the same about the World Juniors Hockey last night. But that was the best hockey game I have seen for a long time. Damn shame the NHL has spoiled the game IMO. Cheers, Carm.
