Haven't been to their site in several years. (since going to FSX) At that time the DC-3 was not available for FSX. It is now and it is one of the best original cockpits out there. The A/C flight model was very good, almost felt like a real R4D which I have time in. Going to buy it again, thanks for the headsup.

Well, 2D cockpit mainly (the VC wasn't really functional when it was converted for FSX), and by today's standards, it's very old. Nice plane in its day, but not now. I sure wish they would update it, but it's not happening.

Great. Very nice airplane! IRL though, who's using them ? I probably seem like the original grinch here where nothing is good enough in my eyes (one of the reasons for my recent sabbatical, and one of the things that made me think hard if I wanted to come back to simming at all - still not completely decided...). For me, and this is purely a personal thing, immersion is everything. For some, using airplanes and scenery for screenies is all they are looking for, and that's great. More power to them and they are probably a whole lot smarter and more satisfied than I am. We all sim for different reasons though, and mine is all about "believability". I left RW flying not of my own choosing and certainly not because I wanted to, so I'm doing all I can to somewhat recreate the experience, but on a very different/wider level. So I'm not poo-pooing a lot of these airplanes. They just simply don't work for what I'm looking for. That (except for 2 developers specifically) is on me, not on them, and I'm certainly (FOR SURE) not going to berate/deride/criticize anyone who opts for any airplane or scenery if they so like. So if I decline something, it's not that I don't appreciate the thoughts/ideas, it's simply that it doesn't work for me personally. Now, I know some are thinking about how hard I ride Caranedo/Alabeo. They are the exception to the above. They HAVE done good work before. Where I have the issue with them is that you never know what you're going to get with them. The 406 and 404 are very good airplanes. I'd recommend them in a minute. Their sounds are decent and reasonably accurate, the graphics are excellent and the FDE's are very good. Then you get the 441 and NONE of those things are worth a hill of sh... errr, "beans". There's a looong history of this. It's when a developer CAN do it, but get lazy or whatever and release a POS like the 441 which has no redeeming qualities whatsoever that ticks me off. Just Flight can do just about as well, and equally well in all areas except the graphics (and the 441 is a definite step down in the graphics department). Yet, the price of the 441 is right up there and they advertise it's tested by RW pilots and the flight characteristics are close to the real thing. That's out and out false advertising. If they DID have RW pilots test it, then they didn't follow a single recommendation they must have made. Anyway, that's why I get so down on them. You pay higher and higher prices, yet their outputs are inconsistent to say the least. They CAN do it, they just get lazy IMO and choose not to. And we get suckered in to thinking we've got a good model. But hey, they aren't all bad and the King Air's were a pretty decent release over all. Regardless, I'm definitely NOT going to sit here and criticize anyone who buys their stuff, either publicly or privately. If it works for you, great. I only post about what I find so that people at least know what they are getting. Thanks Sue, appreciate the input

Credit where credit is due (no pun intended). Carenado did refund me my money on the 441.

Word over at SOH on the C-47 paint thread, is that the VC lighting update has been "sent to the boys for testing." Knock on wood, it will be out soon. LOL Sue

See! The squaky wheel ....... Hmmm, does a wheel squack? Is so, why? If not, why not, list two reasons.

Wheels do not squack if the are properly lubricated by running over a duck, reason 1. Reason 2, if a duck is not available you may goose the wheel.

Gad, I think I'm getting used to this place, must have hung out at the FS Veterans Club too long. LOL Sue Especially when I hit the quote button, instead of the edit button. ROFLMAO !

Well, I was going to squack the wheel, but I found the results weren't all they were quacked up to be. Sue, call 555-999-9999. It's "The Home" emergency hot line. There still may be hope for you yet (unlikely, but I thought I wouldn't completely dash your hopes instantly ). Now, on the "squaky wheel" thingie, I guess so. But they still aren't fixing the airplane, so a lot more (maybe - I'm not convinced their sales aren't falling through the floor) people will get sucked into buying that thing based on looks alone. If they'd fix the airplane, I'd be one of their biggest supporters instead of one of their biggest detractors.
